Login: 12d Synergy Web App with Two-factor Authentication

1.1. How to Register a Secondary Device

If you are logging in to the 12d Synergy Web App for the first time after the 12d Synergy Administrator has selected a secondary device as a mode for two-factor authentication, do the following:

  1. Login to 12d Synergy Web App.
    The Register device dialog box is displayed.


  2. Open the Authenticator application on your mobile device and scan the QR code on the monitor to register your device as a secondary device.
    The 12d Synergy one-time password (OTP) is added to the Authenticator home page.

    To receive the OTP, you must have the Microsoft Authenticator or the Google Authenticator installed on your secondary device.

  3. Click the Next button.
    The Approve this Sign In dialog box is displayed.
  4. Continue to log in to the application.
    If you want to change your registered secondary device, please contact your 12d Synergy Administrator.

1.2. How to Login to 12d Synergy Web App with Two-factor Authentication

  • You can log in to the 12d Synergy Web application using one of the following three modes of authentication. The login process depends on the authentication mode you select.  
    • Windows Authentication 
    • Custom Authentication
    • Single Sign On    
  • Two-factor authentication is NOT applicable to SSO users
  • If your 12d Synergy Administrator has selected / re-selected a secondary device as a mode for two-factor authentication, do the following:
    1. Login to 12d Synergy Client.
      The Approve this Sign In dialog box is displayed.


    2. Enter the six-digit OTP displayed in the Authenticator application in the Code box.
    3. Select the Remember me check box to enable the system to log in without an OTP for a period of time. The length of time that your authentication can be remembered is set by the 12d Synergy Administrator in the 12d Synergy Administration application. If not set, it defaults to 30 days.
    4. Click the Approve button.
      If the entered OTP is correct, then you are successfully logged into the Web App.
  • If your 12d Synergy Administrator has selected / re-selected email as a mode for two-factor authentication, do the following:
    1. Open any of the supported browsers and type the 12d Synergy Mobile App link provided by your 12d Synergy Administrator in the address bar and press the Enter key.
      The login dialog box is displayed.

      Google Chrome

    2. Enter your username and password in the Username and Password fields.
    3. Click the Login button.
      The username and password are verified and the Approve this Sign In dialog box is displayed.


    4. Enter the six-digit OTP sent to your email address in the Code box.

      If you have not received your OTP email in your inbox, check your junk or spam folder. If you still cannot find it, then click the Resend button in the Approve this Sign in window to get a new OTP.

    5. Select the Remember me check box to enable the system to log in without an OTP for a period of time. The length of time that your authentication can be remembered is set by the 12d Synergy Administrator in the 12d Synergy Administration application. If not set, it defaults to 30 days.

      If you do NOT select the Remember me check box, then after four hours of your last login to the 12d Synergy Web app on the same system, you will be prompted for an OTP every time you log in then on.

    6. Click the Approve button.
      If the entered OTP is correct, then you are successfully logged into the Web App.
