1.1. Logging in to the 12d Synergy Client after Two-factor Authentication is Set Up

1.1.1. First Login

1.1.1.1. If Email is the option selected for receiving the OTP, then do the following:

  1. Login to 12d Synergy Client application.
    The Approve this Sign In via Email window is displayed.


  2. Access your registered email and copy the OTP from your email to the Code box.
  3. Click the Approve button.  
  4. Continue to log in to the application.

1.1.1.2. If Mobile Device is the option selected for receiving the OTP, then do the following:

  1. Login to 12d Synergy Client.
    The Register a Secondary Device window is displayed.


  2. Open the Authenticator application on your mobile device and scan the QR code on the monitor to register your device as a secondary device.
    The 12d Synergy one-time password (OTP) is added to the Authenticator home page.

    To receive the OTP, you must have the Microsoft Authenticator or the Google Authenticator installed on your secondary device.

  3. Click the I’ve registered my device button.
    The Approve this Sign In the window is displayed.
  4. Continue to log in to the application.
    • If the mode of two-factor authentication is changed, then your subsequent login is considered a first-time login.
    • In case a user needs to forcefully log off the 12d Synergy Client application, then the 12d Synergy Administrator can click the Force Log Out button in the Edit a User window for the specific user.
    • Whenever a change is made to any of the two-factor authentication settings, you are prompted to enter an OTP. The OTP is sent to you either on your secondary device or on your email, based on your two-factor authentication settings.

1.1.2. Subsequent Logins

1.1.2.1. If Email is the option selected for receiving the OTP, then do the following:

  1. Login to the 12d Synergy Client application.
    The Approve this Sign In window is displayed.


  2. Enter the six-digit OTP displayed in the Authenticator application in the Code  box.

    If you have not received your OTP email in your inbox, check your junk or spam folder. If you still cannot find it, then click the Resend button in the Approve this Sign in window to get a new OTP.

  3. Select the Remember me check box to enable the system to log in without an OTP for a period of time. The length of time that your authentication can be remembered is set by the 12d Synergy Administrator in the 12d Synergy Administration application. If not set, it defaults to 30 days.

    If you do NOT select the Remember me check box, you are prompted for an OTP every time you log in to a 12d Synergy application on the same system, after four hours of the previous login via an OTP.

  4. Click the Approve button.
    If the entered OTP is correct, then you are successfully logged in to the application.

1.1.2.2. If Mobile Device is the option selected for receiving the OTP, then do the following:

  1. Login to the 12d Synergy Client application.
    The Approve this Sign In window is displayed.


  2. Enter the six-digit OTP displayed in the Authenticator application in the Code  box.

    To receive the OTP, you must have the Microsoft Authenticator or the Google Authenticator installed on your secondary device.

  3. Select the Remember me check box to enable the system to log in without an OTP for a period of time. The time span for which your authentication can be remembered is set by the 12d Synergy Administrator in the 12d Synergy Administration  application. If not set, it defaults to 30 days.
    If you do NOT select the Remember me check box, you are prompted for an OTP every time you log in to a 12d Synergy application on the same system, after four hours of the previous login via an OTP.
  4. Click the Approve button.
    If the entered OTP is correct, then you are successfully logged in to the application.
    If you have lost your secondary device, click the I’ve lost my device button. You are prompted to contact your 12d Synergy Administrator.
