How to turn on CAD Logging

To set up CAD plugin logging to diagnose a problem with the 12d Synergy plugin for AutoCAD or BricsCAD, you:

  1. Go to the start button in windows
  2. Type in: Environment Variables
  3. Select: Edit the Environment Variables for your Account
  4. Click Environment Variables, if the option is available
  5. In the "User Variables" section, click new
  6. Enter the settings below

Variable Name: 12dSynergyCADPluginLog

Variable value: c:\temp\cad_plugin_log

  1. Click ok until all windows are closed
  2. Make sure the folder c:\temp exists on your computer
  3. Restart all synergy clients and 12d Synergy aware applications (including the 12d Synergy Sync App, AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Outlook, 12d Model, Word etc)
  4. When the CAD application starts, the log file should be created
  5. Attempt to repeat the problem until it reoccurs. When the problem reoccurs, take note of the time so that we can check it against the log
  6. Send us the log (on the original issue)
