# Opening a 12d Model Project

## **1.1 With Checking Out**

To open a 12d Model project from 12d Synergy you can check the project out first by:

- Select DRN 00 ROADS 12d Model project
- Ribbon→Check out ![](https://cdn.document360.io/36833d89-59e3-46a5-b491-e9aa1b524a85/Images/Documentation/63d1dda1-f49d-4b84-970c-93e1c09610fd.png)  
This copies the project to your local workspace and the working folders change from green to red.
