# Installing the 12d Synergy Client

## **1.1 Requirements**

The .NET 4.5 must be installed before starting the installation.

## **1.2 Required Components**

The 12d Synergy client contains several components

## **1.3 The 12d Synergy Workspace**

12d Synergy operates within a set of local folders called a ‘workspace’. Temporary copies and latest versions will be saved here. Once the workspace is set, it cannot be changed without removing the local database.

An IT administrator can enforce the location of the workspace by setting the windows environment variable, 12dSynergyWorkspaceRoot
