Double-click the **12dSynergy_FRS_Install_<*version number*>.exe** to start the installation process. Click the **Next** button. Select the "**I have read and accepted the terms...**" checkbox. 4. Click the **Next** button. Browse and select the installation location. However, it is recommended to use the default pre-defined setting. 6. Click the **Next** button. The**Configure the 12d Synergy File Replication Server** window is displayed. Enter the **Service Account** and **Service Password** in their respective boxes. It is recommended to use the default values displayed in the **Port**box. - If you are on a domain, then enter the Service Account in the **Domain\UserName** format. - If you are not on a domain, enter the Service Account in the **.\ServiceAccount** format. Ensure that this service account must has administrative access. - The installer will attempt to test these credentials. In some cases, it may be possible for an incorrect result to this test, depending on the complexity of your network. This test should be taken as a guideline only and a failed result can be ignored if you are sure your credentials are correct. 8. Click the **Next** button. Do one of the following based on whether or not Microsoft SQL Server is installed on your system: - If **you have Microsoft SQL Server installed**on your system, do the following: 1. Select **Microsoft SQL Server is already installed** option. 2. Click the **Next** button. Select one of the following options from the **Database Security**list. - **Windows Security** - You will be prompted for the recovery mode which is set to the **Simple** option. - **SQL Server Security** - You will be prompted for a user name and password if you select this option. You can click the **Test Connection** button to check if all the connections to the Database Server are correctly set. 4. Click the **Next** button. The **Configure the 12d Synergy File Replication Server** window is displayed. - If **you do not have Microsoft SQL Server installed**on your system, do the following: 1. Select **Install Microsoft SQL Server Express 2014**option. 2. Click the **Next** button. Set the **Recovery Mode** to the **Simple** option, if it is not pre-selected. 4. Click the **Next** button. The **Configure the 12d Synergy File Replication Server** window is displayed. 10. Click the **Next** button. Click the ellipsis ![](https://cdn.document360.io/36833d89-59e3-46a5-b491-e9aa1b524a85/Images/Documentation/performingtheinstallationfrs.doc-image-he2sw36a.png)button and select a location on your local drive or network. In case you are using a mapped drive, use it only if you are sure that it will exist when the service starts. 13. Click the **Next** button. Click the **Install**button to initiate the installation. The installation is completed and the **12d Synergy Service** is started.
