# Companies: 12d Synergy Web and Mobile Apps

In the 12d Synergy Web or Mobile App, you can create a new company and set up its attributes, update its staff and associate it with other entities. Companies can be set as Job Attributes to define who the job is for, and Contacts can be connected to Companies to keep an accurate list of who works there.

### 1.1. How to Add a Company

1. On the 12d Synergy ribbon, click the **Companies**![](https://cdn.document360.io/36833d89-59e3-46a5-b491-e9aa1b524a85/Images/Documentation/v5companiescompanies.doc-image-ywz5ojkv.png) button.  
Depending on the size of the browser or if you are using the 12d Synergy Mobile App, this option is displayed either in the 12d Synergy ribbon or under the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/36833d89-59e3-46a5-b491-e9aa1b524a85/Images/Documentation/v5companiescompanies.doc-image-1xjiou39.png)top-left menu.The **Companies** form with a list of added companies is displayed.

2. Click the **Add**![](https://cdn.document360.io/36833d89-59e3-46a5-b491-e9aa1b524a85/Images/Documentation/v5companiescompanies.doc-image-pbwfmc1c.png) button.  
The **Create company** dialog box is displayed.

3. In the **General**tab, do the following:
  1. Enter the name in the **Name** field.
  2. Select/Clear the **Is Active** checkbox to activate/deactivate the company.
  3. Click the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/36833d89-59e3-46a5-b491-e9aa1b524a85/Images/Documentation/v5companiescompanies.doc-image-3ob3jvs9.png) icon to upload an image or logo for the company.
4. Enter the required attribute details in the **Attributes** tab.

The **Create** button is enabled.
5. Click the **Create ![](https://cdn.document360.io/36833d89-59e3-46a5-b491-e9aa1b524a85/Images/Documentation/v5companiescompanies.doc-image-4bo1by9g.png)** button.  
The company is created and is displayed in the **Companies** form.

### 1.2. How to Edit/Update a Company

1. In the 12d Synergy ribbon, click the **Companies**![](https://cdn.document360.io/36833d89-59e3-46a5-b491-e9aa1b524a85/Images/Documentation/v5companiescompanies.doc-image-mmox7gcw.png) button.

2. Click the company whose details you want to edit/update.  
The **<*Selected Company name*>** dialog box is displayed.

The following tabs are displayed.
  - **General** – You can update the name and company logo and activate/deactivate a company.
  - **Attributes** – You can view the attributes created for the company.
  - **Staff** – You can view, delete, or add staff members to the company.
  - **Notes** – You can view, reply, delete or add a note(s) related to the company.
  - **Associations** – You can view, delete or [add an association](https://help.12dsynergy.com/docs/v5associations) to the company.
  - **Jobs** – You can view the jobs related to the selected company.
3. Click the **Update** button.  
The superscripted number in the tabs indicates the number of items displayed in that tab. For example, ![](https://cdn.document360.io/36833d89-59e3-46a5-b491-e9aa1b524a85/Images/Documentation/v5companiescompanies.doc-image-ixzodzfu.png)indicates that five attributes are defined for this company.
